Safety Day 2025
Free Event
From OSHA Ambassador Alliance partners: Abbott, Lake County Building Trades, Great Lakes Construction Association, and OSHA
This year's topic: Stuff That will Kill You
We will be focusing on: Energy-Based Risk/Safety:
The risk of serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs) is more than just a number—it’s shaped by the interplay of energy, controls, and time, and is influenced by a complex array of human, organizational, and managerial factors. By leveraging tools like high-energy control assessments, climate diagnostics, and human factors analysis, we can peel back the layers of SIF risk. This deeper understanding will help us to create a more comprehensive and objective method of assessing SIF risk, enabling smarter, data-driven decisions that reduce risk during design and planning stages and STKY – Stuff that will Kill You a safety concept focused on identifying and mitigating high-energy hazards in the workplace. It emphasizes recognizing hazards that could lead to life-altering, life-threatening, or life-ending injuries.
